What Kind of Data Will We Receive?
The Philanthropy Index uses 12 indicators in each community's Philanthropy Potential Data Report.
Baseline Data measures current philanthropic acitivity in your community in four areas:
- Grantmaking Foundations
- Nonprofit Organizations
- Individual Charitable Giving
- "Social Capital" (patterns of behavior, organization and communication that promote a healthy and caring quality of life among citizens)
Trend Data describes important changes in your community during recent years:
- Population Change
- Emerging/Dominant Economic Sectors
- Labor Force Stability
- Retirement and Investment Income
Target Data helps identify the presence of individuals (but not by name) who have the capability to play a key role in the building of permanent philanthropic assets for your community:
- Business Proprietors
- Farm Proprietors
- Affluent and Middle-Class Families
- High-Income Households
